How to distribute lossless music to Apple Music and iTunes

As Apple and Spotify enter the game, the world of hi-res music streaming has suddenly sped up. RouteNote can help you upload your songs to Apple Music’s new Lossless Audio and Spotify’s upcoming HiFi platforms, as well as many others for free.

Apple Music and Spotify join the likes of TIDAL, Deezer, Qobuz and Amazon, as well as popular Asian streaming services such as MOOV and QQ Music, all of which we distribute to in lossless quality, free of charge. As Apple Music launch Lossless Audio at no additional charge and Amazon Music announce the same price cut, this may well lead to the rest of the industry following suit as technology naturally improves. With the two biggest players in premium music streaming soon launching higher quality audio, we can only image it being a matter of time until the likes of YouTube Music and Pandora, as two of the largest music streamer in the US holding out on hi-res audio, join the club.

RouteNote launched FLAC uploads in 2015, with this feature becoming available to all artists for free in 2018. Distributing your lossless music files to RouteNote is free and easy, plus any tracks you currently have distributed through RouteNote uploaded as FLAC, will be ready for Apple Music’s Lossless CD quality by the end of the year. Simply head to RouteNote, upload your 16 bit/44.1 kHz FLAC files, tick the stores and streaming services you want to distribute to, then pick either Free Distribution or Premium Distribution. Free Distribution doesn’t cost a penny and you keep 85% of the revenue generated. Premium Distribution costs a small fee, while you keep 100% of the revenue generated. Artists always stay in control of their music, retaining 100% of the rights.
