Apple Music Arrives Officially On Sonos Speakers

Apple’s extremely successful music streaming service Apple Music was made compatible with Sonos speakers in December. However this was released only in a beta available to certain applicants, now after last wednesday’s launch Sonos works with Apple Music for everyone.

Now any proud owners of Sonos wireless streaming speakers can listen to their Apple Music library, Beats 1, Radio and anything else from Apple’s 43 million strong catalog of songs. In addition to speaker compatibility Apple’s partnership with Sonos will include Sonos’ own station on Apple Music, featuring tracks by artists partnered with the tech company.

Senior vice president for internet software and service at Apple, Eddy Cue said: “The feedback from Apple Music members on Sonos during the beta period has been great. Sonos plus Apple Music provides an amazing listening experience at home – and we’re excited to offer it to all Sonos customers.”

Thanks to it’s successful beta program any Sonos users can add Apple Music to their speaker system by selecting ‘Add Music Services’ from the Sonos app and pressing on Apple Music. As one of the few services that weren’t compatible with Sonos, Apple Music’s arrival marks a big addition for the company whose speaker systems are available in over 60 countries.

In a press release by Sonos, the company’s CEO John MacFarlane stated: “Working with Apple gives us the opportunity to share Apple Music throughout people’s homes in a way that’s easy, intuitive, and sounds great. This partnership has been an excellent example of two companies that truly care about music coming together to deliver a great listening experience.”
