Apple Music promotes their new UK head of editorial
Ryan Newman has just been announced that he’ll be moving up the ladder for artist relations to overseeing Apple Music’s editorial in the UK.
Newman has an extensive history at the forefront of British music, spending 11 years as an editor at BBC Radio 1 – the nation’s most popular radio station. in 2018 he joined Apple Music to manage music and then moved on to artist relations. Now it’s time for his third and most significant role yet.
As the head of editorial for Apple Music in the UK, Newman will be in charge of their taste-making, including decisions regarding playlists, what they market and promote, and more creative decisions.
The current head of editorial at Apple Music is leaving for Atlantic Records this month and was the first to announce the news with a congratulations on Twitter.
