Apple Music’s new homepage has you set for quarantine

Apple Music want to lift the spirits of self-isolators as soon as they open the app with their quarantine content.

Many companies and services are doing their bit to keep people happy and entertained whilst we all deal with the Coronavirus. For many it means staying at home a lot, and thankfully the internet and it’s products are perfect for that.

Apple Music, the flagship streaming service from super-mega-tech-giant Apple, has rejigged its home page so that those stuck in self-isolation face some immediate gratification tuned to cheering them up.

For the parents, who are coming around to being full-time carers of their children for the meantime, Apple have a section dedicated to Kids and Family playlists. To keep everyone relaxed and calm there are sets of playlists under ‘Staying In, Switching Off’ and ‘Unwind’.

Beyond the home page, Apple have launched a new personalised playlist based on positive vibes. Their Get Up! Mix uses curators and algorithms to find music that is upbeat and happy as well as attuned to your tastes. It presents the playlist in their For You section and updates each week.

Beats 1 is still live and running even whilst people all over the world are encouraged to isolate themselves at home. The hosts will be recording the shows from their own homes so that they can do the right thing whilst still bringing their beloved shows to people around the world.
