Pandora have launched an upgrade for Pandora AMP that enhances it’s free marketing platform for artists with a load of new functions.

Pandora AMP is a platform launched by streamer Pandora for artists that helps to break out new music, examine your music performance and connect with your fans. In a next-gen update Pandora have bolstered their AMP platform with enhanced analytics, direct marketing opportunities and communication with fans, and more.

Head of Pandora’s Music Maker Group and chief operating officer, Sara Clemens said: “Our mission has always been to offer every artist the opportunity to find their audience on Pandora – a fan base of more than 78 million of the most engaged listeners in streaming music today. AMP eliminates guesswork, helps break new artists, surfaces new music from established artists and creates new revenue streams.”

Pandora’s new and improved analytics are powered by the online music analysis company Next Big Sound, which Pandora acquired last year. Analytics aren’t at the heart of AMP though however, instead providing unique opportunities for fan contact. AMP now has the ability to create Artist Audio Messages which can be geotargeted and shared across social media all from within the AMP app.

Here are all of the new tools for artist promotion on Pandora AMP:

  • Artist Audio Messages: Let artists record a short audio message, customize the message with images or calls to action, set it to play before or after a specific track and geotarget fans in specific markets.
  • Featured Tracks: Give artists the ability to promote a new single widely across Pandora and receive real-time feedback such as thumbs up or down and station creations to gauge listener affinity.
  • Ticketfly Integration: Prompts artists to promote shows at Ticketfly venues via Artist Audio Messages, automatically provides a “click to buy” link and suggests dates for airing and geo-targeting the message based on the event location.

Pandora AMP isn’t the only thing to have received new life lately. As Pandora approach the release of their new music streaming service they’ve had a makeover for their streaming service and integrated new music sharing features into iMessage. They clearly want to present the best service possible before the official launch and with no release date yet we could be seeing even more enhancements come first.
