Apple is Going to Kill Pandora

There have been a lot of reports over the last few days about Apple developing a direct Pandora clone.

The WSJ’s sources point to a service that will run across iOS devices and Macs, and “possibly” on PCs, but suggest that licensing negotiations with labels have only just started.

Apple doesnt want to go down the compulsory licences like Pandora, because this would restrict interactivity and licenses across different countries.

Its understandable that Apple dont want to produce a Spotify competitor at the moment, because it would diminish the power of the iTunes store. This is a nice step forward for Apple who only want to slowly moving into this market.

I think Pandora really have to start to innovate their product and finally get direct licensing deals with Labels and move into new countries. This needs to happen within the next 6 months or they will be left behind and they will slowly start to become yet another pointless music service.
