How To Move To RouteNote From Another Music Distributor
If you’re thinking of joining RouteNote from another digital music distributor this guide will show you just how easy it is and the benefits you get when you distribute music through RouteNote.
How do I move my music to RouteNote?
- Head to routenote.com and create an account – it’s quick and easy.
- Click “Create New Release” and enter the details for your single, EP or album and which stores you want to put them on. Ensure you use the same audio data, UPC, and ISRCs to keep your streaming data and listener’s favourites and playlist adds.
- Once you’ve uploaded your music your release will be sent to our team and then delivered to stores upon approval.
- Once it’s live, ensure the track-linking has worked. If it’s all gone through correctly, then you can notify your previous distributor to remove your releases.
- Now your releases are live through RouteNote, you’ve still got all of your streaming accolades, and your fans haven’t missed a beat!
Ensure that you upload your releases again through RouteNote before removing them with your previous distributor for correct track-linking. If you want to keep some releases on your old distributor and use RouteNote for new releases you can – the choice is all yours.

For example: I am using Routenote now and then I want to move to another distributor later in the future..will all our music on all platforms distributed by ‘Routenote’ be deleted? And what should I do if I want to move to another distributor without all my music being removed from platforms and causing no effect on my artist page? Will there be any confusion if I change my distributor? How can I upload to the same artist page even after changing my distributor? Will the songs on our artist page be released twice?
Should I delete my account from Routenote before changing to another distributor such that there is not any confusion…and in that case will my songs be removed from all the platforms?
Hello, you can get in touch with our support team at any time to arrange the takedown of any of your releases. You will need to make sure when uploading a release to a new distributor that the release has been taken down from our side. You can either take down and re-upload releases individually or ask for your entire catalog to be taken down.
