Today, TikTok partner with the biggest names in music streaming so that music discovery on the app strengthens your music library.

TikTok partner with Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music to enhance your music libraries. The partnership comes with a new ‘Add to Music App’ button on TikTok for quicker music discovery and library building.

The new feature allows users to save music they discover on TikTok straight to their music libraries. So when you discover a new track in a TikTok, you can add it your library on your music streaming service with just one tap.

The feature is being rolled out over the next few weeks for testing in the US and UK. They promise more markets will follow. Amazon Music’s Director of Business Development, Karolina Joynathsing said: “At Amazon Music, we’re looking to make it easier to convert those moments into enduring fandom. That’s why we worked together with TikTok on the Add to Music App feature.”

TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, Ole Obermann said their new feature means it’s now “easier than ever for music fans to enjoy the full-length song on the music streaming service of their choice, thereby generating even greater value for artists and rightsholders.”

He adds: “TikTok is already the world’s most powerful platform for music discovery and promotion, which helps artists connect with our global community to drive engagement with their music. Add to Music App takes this process a step further.”

It’s an interesting move for the social media app, whose parent company just launched their own music service. TikTok Music launched earlier in the year and is currently available in Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, and Singapore.

The music app lets you sync your TikTok profile to conjoin the videos you like with your music library on TikTok Music. Your account is also tied so that you can discover new music in TikTok Music based on your likes on TikTok.

So, why are they partnering with potential streaming rivals? Well, it’s worth noting that currently TikTok Music isn’t available with the territories so-far announced for the Add to Music App button. We’ll have to see where both the new feature and TikTok music end up.

Spotify Vice President and Global Head of Consumer Experience, Sten Garmark said: “No matter where you are, or the moment you’re in, we want to create less work to get to the audio you love. That means being everywhere our users are and creating seamless ways to save songs to Spotify to enjoy when and how they choose to listen.

“As the world’s largest audio streaming subscription service, our mission is to bring artists and fans together, so you can listen to more of what you love, across any platform or device. Essentially, you won’t need to find audio to suit the moment. It will find you.”

How to integrate TikTok and Spotify

  1. Make sure your Spotify and TikTok mobile apps are updated.
  2. Set Spotify as your default streaming service on TikTok. You can do this the first time you use the new feature by tapping “Add Song” in the main TikTok feed and selecting Spotify, or under the Settings page on TikTok under Music.
  3. Then, automatically save songs to Your Library by simply tapping the “Add to Spotify” button in TikTok. On Spotify, you’ll find all your newly saved tracks in your Liked Songs playlist.
  4. Head to your Liked Songs and get listening!

You can also use the Add to Music app feature from an artist’s Sound Detail page.
