Monthly active users show us how many people (free or premium) are regularly coming back to listen to music on the streaming service.

For this list we’re ignoring paying users and instead focusing on monthly active users (MAU). This gives us an idea of where the future of streaming revenue could come from, should these services be able to convert free users to paying subscribers.

Since we last updated this, Spotify’s latest monthly active users (from Q4 2023) have pushed ahead of Tencent Music’s latest monthly active users (from Q3 2023).
