Yet more Spotify HiFi leaks have us wondering yet again whether Spotify will ever unlock lossless audio and in what form.

I’ve run out of fingers to count the number of announcements, leaks, and rumours suggesting HiFi music on Spotify is coming. Yet, here we are again with another set of leaks revealing a new way in which lossless, high fidelity audio may be coming to the platform.

In the new leaks from Reddit users OhItsTom, screenshots reveal an “Enhanced Listening” setting. This feature will allow users to “stream wirelessly in up to 24-bit on compatible devices through Spotify Connect”. A label will then show when listeners are listening in up to 24-bit audio quality.

The last leaks we reported suggested that instead of a new subscription tier which would include HiFi audio, Spotify would be adding HiFi as paid add-on for subscribers. Although Spotify confirmed HiFi was coming years ago, we’re yet to have an official announcement from them as to what it will look like and when it will come amidst all of the leaks and rumours.

In response to the latest round of leaks, one Reddit user wrote: “Thank you for sharing the leaks but to be honest I’m fed up with them hyping us non-stop. I just wanna see HiFi happening.” I think that’s something we can all agree on.
