How to make money on your SoundCloud tracks from the first play for free
Monetizing your tracks on SoundCloud is now easier than ever before and this guide will show you how you can quickly start making money from your song’s first play FREE with RouteNote.
SoundCloud have just made an update that enhances their upload process so that you can set it up for monetization straight from it’s launch. So make the most of your music and get paid for all your hard work every single time someone listens to your music, with these simple steps:
Step 1
The first step is to decide a release date, as you want to upload the release as early as possible for day one monetisation.
Fill in all your information as usual, except under “Availability” (may appear under Monetization instead) where you want to schedule the track for at least a week later.
This will make the track private with a shareable link that we can use to monetise your track.
Step 2
Log in to your account at www.routenote.com or create a free account.
Upload your track to RouteNote selecting SoundCloud as a store (you can also upload your music for free to Spotify, iTunes, Tidal, Deezer, Apple Music and more for free here).
Once your track has been uploaded and approved (you will receive an email to notify you of this) you need to add the song’s private link from SoundCloud into the SoundCloud section of your RouteNote account.
When adding your link you will need to remove the private link from the end of the URL. For example in: https://soundcloud.com/routenote/ed-harbinger-destroy-yourself/s-HPjkw – you will need to remove ‘s-HPjkw‘.
Once you have done this please send an email to soundcloud@routenote.com to let them know that you have done this.
There is a full guide here on this step: routenote.com/soundcloud/guide
Step 3
Once you have completed Step 2 you should receive an email from us when your track is monetised. You can confirm this by looking for the blue dollar symbol under your track saying that “This track is monetisable”.
Now you can take your track off of private or wait for the date you scheduled and the track will upload ready to earn money off of every play from the start!
