Building from viral TikTok fame that exploded around her choreography that accompanied “Own Brand Freestyle,” Dréya Mac has been expanding her brand in inventive ways from her beginnings as a dancer. The Londoner has promised a big project will drop in 2023.
GloRilla
Memphis-raised GloRilla’s rapping style takes no prisoners. Her instantly recognisable hard-edged voice cuts through any beat, eviscerating male targets with both lyrics and in attitude. She’s risen fast since summer 2022 after dropping “FNF (Let’s Go)”, fast gaining fans and critical acclaim. GloRilla is here to stay.
Lola Brooke
Lola Brooke had her pick of offers before she signed to Arista Records. Her deep-voiced bars are rapid-fire and above all, proudly Brooklyn. Look out for new single “Just Relax,” dropping soon to set her tone for the rest of 2023.
Clavish
UK rapper Clavish started 2023 off strong with a sprawling debut mixtape, Rap Game Awful, which at 23 tracks still leaves you knowing there’s more to come. He raps with confidence and thoughtfulness, with lyrics that are refreshingly shrewd about his hip-hop lifestyle.
Lee Young Ji
The young husky-voiced South Korean rapper and singer with a big personality just became the first ever woman MC to win the Show me The Money hip-hop talent show. Stylish with wickedly fast rhymes, Lee Young Ji is determined to reach new heights in 2023.
Blazer Boccle
Hailing from Bradford in the UK, Blazer Boccle writes lyrics that are always authentic even when they’re hilarious. Instrumental influences from punk guitar to old school grime mean no two songs are the same.
