Ninja Tune launches a music-making app with Coldcut

Jamm Pro is a new music production app from the Ninja Tune record label and electronic duo Coldcut.

Jamm Pro is a follow up to the great but out of date Ninja Jamm app from 2015 for performing and producing music on iPad. The app is a joint effort from the legendary record label Ninja Tune and the duo of Matt Black and Jonathon Moore; Coldcut.

Jamm Pro lets users create and perform music with an intuitive app that builds on samples and effects. Load and record your own samples into the app and shape their sounds using fully customisable sound dynamics and settings.

The four+1 channels can all be effected with distortion, filters, delays, reverbs and sidechains for a unique sound design on each. Most sounds can then be patched into a Modulation Step Sequencer to play and capture their ideas in patterns.

Once you’ve started creating a sound that you like and the patterns are coming together there’s a mastering module to bring it all together. The Sub Bass Synth is capable of fattening it up with a heavy 808 kick or bassline.

You can record a stereo mixdown to take the Stems and use them in your DAW to craft it out into a full piece. There is much more to discover in this powerful music production app and it’s available for $9.99 on the Apple App Store now.
