What music is trending on TikTok? Find out on a new digital radio station on iHeartRadio, only playing music popular on TikTok in Australia.

TikTok is partnering with iHeartRadio to launch a digital radio station in Australia. TikTok Trending on iHeartRadio will broadcast 24/7 for the next three months, playing the music that’s trending on TikTok.

iHeartRadio is the leading free radio, music and podcast platform in Australia. The TikTok Trending station will be hosted by a set of Australian TikTok creators and a revolving selection of guest presenters, local Australian artists and international stars. The focus of course will be on the music trending on the short-video app, whether that’s new songs being used in dance challenges or revived classics as seen with last year’s Fleetwood Mac trend.

The radio station hosts, G Flip (@gflipmusic), Isaiah Firebrace (@IsaiahFirebrace), Tannar (@tannar), and Avneesha (@avneesha_official) will present for an hour each in a rolling back-to-back broadcast. They’ll be giving behind-the-scenes insight into music stories on TikTok and interviews with artists.

In a statement, Ollie Wards, Director of Music, TikTok Australia and New Zealand, said: “For us, this radio station is a testament to TikTok’s growing credentials in the music industry and the influence the platform has in propelling talent and tracks from the platform and into the mainstream music scene.

“Along with trending songs popping up in the charts, TikTok has become somewhat of a ‘music tipsheet’ for radio, with programmers getting on top of the music that’s gaining traction on the platform. So we thought it was high time to make some waves on the radio ourselves, giving music lovers around the country a companion channel to enjoy the best TikTok-trending tracks, and the artists who are taking off on the platform.”

Non-music trends on TikTok will feature too, with the presenters discussing which challenges, new effects and new celebrities are their favourites on the platform, offering listeners a way to keep up-to-date with the lightning-fast changes of TikTok trends.

Brett “Nozz” Nossiter, iHeartRadio’s Content Director, said: “We share the TikTok community’s passion for exploring, creating and enjoying a diverse array of music, and we’re so excited to be able to support emerging and established musicians who have enjoyed success on TikTok, and amplify their music to an even bigger audience of fans.”

The TikTok Trending on iHeartRadio digital radio station is available now for Australians exclusively via iHeartRadio on desktop, mobile or tablet, on Apple TV or smart speaker, and on DAB+ digital radio in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney.
