The Moog Guitar Model E1 is the production model of The Moog Guitar. The Moog Guitar: Model E1 uses the same innovative electronics and pick-ups as the original Paul Vo Collector Edition, with some exciting new changes.

It’s available in three new finishes; Butterscotch, Candy Red and Black, and now sports chrome hardware, a solid alder body and a choice of fixed or tremolo bridges.

“I had already begun thinking of it as a new type of instrument rather than merely as an enhanced electric guitar, much as acoustic guitarists in the ‘50s may have felt when first encountering the electric guitar” Barry Cleveland – Guitar Player Magazine.

The E1 has also been described as delivering an incredibly intimate guitar playing experience that connects guitarists directly to the source of the sound, the strings. The E1 does this by controlling the way the strings vibrate by giving more or less power, as you control it, to the strings. The resulting timbers, as a result do not rely on effects or post-processing. They are created directly from the strings, making it that bit more responsive.

The moog site posted an introduction to the production model of the new axe earlier this month.
