Spotify have just made their new Countdown Pages available to all artists. These special pages build hype for artists’ upcoming releases with a landing page where users can dive inside a release in preparation. With a timer counting down, fans can get excited for the precise moment of release – ensuring they’re there to listen the second it drops.

From a Spotify Countdown Page, listeners can presave the upcoming album, preview the track list including singles that have already been published, watch Clips, purchase merch, and count down the moment that the release finally goes live.

All artists can now create their own Countdown Pages on Spotify. Artists must have at least 5,000 active listeners in the last 28 days to access the feature.

Spotify’s Global Head for Artists, Marketing & Policy, Sam Duboff said: “The lead-up to an album’s release is arguably the most important time during a project’s life cycle. With this in mind, we took a step back as a company to come up with ways that we can help artists build momentum with fans during this period and elevate the album as an artistic statement.”

Spotify have found that giving fans the option to presave an album increases the streams. Nearly 70% of users who presaved an album go on to stream it in the week of its release. They also saw a 100% increase in the number of presaves when artists added Clips to their Countdown Pages.
