Security is paramount in the digital age. You want to feel secure when you’re online and at RouteNote we want to ensure that you feel safe when you use our services to get your music out there, promote your content, and look for new samples and loops to use in your tracks.

Here are the measures we take to ensure that your account is always safe and secure on your music journey.

OTP Emails | One-Time Passcodes

Within your user portal, we use OTP protection to ensure that any changes to your account are made by you. When you go to change sensitive information within your account, we will ask that you verify your account by using a one-time passcode that is sent to your linked email address.

The email address linked to your account will be partially obscured until the OTP has been verified. This extra step ensures that you access your email address from your own knowledge and allows the OTP to work at its most effective.

Your security question for account recovery will also be obscured until OTP verification.

Linked Emails

Our support team will only make changes to your releases via email when the requests come from the email address linked to your RouteNote account. Support tickets made from a user must also be made from the account that the changes are to be made for in order for our team to process the requests.

This ensures that the control of your music releases is secure. In the event that you lose access to your email or account, our support team will help you to regain access before we verify making any changes.

What can you do to help?

The most important thing to keep in mind when securing your account is choosing a strong password. Ideally your password will feature a combination of letters, numbers, and accepted symbols. The longer and more obscure the better – just ensure you can remember it!

Once you’ve chosen a strong password for your account, ensure that you never share it with anyone else. That includes our team. Never share your password.

Finally, keep your personal email address secure by following the same advice so that you always have access to the address with which we can identify you.

Note: Some older RouteNote accounts may not be equipped with a security question. Go to your user portal and input a security question and answer to make sure you have an extra step of recovery in case you ever lose access to your email address or account.
