Prepare for Spotify’s event of the year by giving something back to fans for your place in their Spotify Wrapped top artists.

Everyone’s favourite time of the year is almost here. No, not Christmas! That’s a little way off yet… We’re talking about Spotify Wrapped.

The event is famous for bringing the music world together. Spotify offers listeners a look back at their year and the music that will staple it into your memory hereafter.

Spotify Wrapped creates a series of cards for users, racking up their streaming over the past year. It reveals your top artists, tracks, genres, and more recently podcasts. All of this is highly shareable, getting listeners to compare their listening habits.

It’s also a fantastic opportunity for artists to connect with their superfans. Spotify will tell you if you’re one of the top listeners to an artist. For this reason, it’s a great chance for artists to give something back to their superfans.

What can artists do for Spotify Wrapped 2023?

Connect with your fans to create a lasting connection. Spotify have a number of ways that you can reach out to your top fans this year.

Upload a video message for fans

Here’s a chance to speak directly to the fans who matter most. You can record a video speaking directly to listeners who have you as one of their top artists this year the moment they open Wrapped.

In a video up to 30 seconds, let them know what your support means to them. Simply head to the video tab in Spotify for Artists to upload yours. Here’s what you need to make sure of:

  • Record your video vertically
  • Don’t add music, lyrics, or sing
  • No explicit content
  • No logos or brands
  • Don’t add text, graphics, or filters

Add a caption that will show up at the bottom of your video as a bonus message to your fans. You can choose your thumbnail as well. Then preview your video before sending it off.

Offer fans a discount on merch

Last year, Spotify saw their biggest week ever for merch sales during Wrapped week. To help artists sell even more, Spotify are offering artists in the US and Canada the option to reward top fans with discounts.

Set up your discount rewards by November 15th. Here’s how:

  1. Head to the Merch tab in Spotify for Artists, then go to Special Offers and click the “Create discount” button to get started.
  2. Set up your discount by following the prompts. Select “Wrapped” as the reward audience, then choose a discount amount, and item(s) to be discounted.
  3. Review your discount and schedule – then you’re good to go.

Get your merch in front of fans

Make sure your merch section on Spotify is ready. Use Spotify’s integration with Shopify by November 15th. Spotify will select up to 5 of your most recently added items to feature on top listeners Wrapped experiences.

Highlight your live shows
