FL Studio 21 has seen a number of new features added and now allows for advanced control over audio clips, a more efficient browser, and a suite of new creative plugins.

It’s been just over 4 years since Image-Line released FL Studio 20, and the developers have been improving the software and adding features since. The program has seen a number of updates that have been building up to the release of FL Studio 21, and every feature in 21 has been made from scratch with a more stable code core.

Introducing FL Studio 21

A host of new features and improvements are available in the FL 21 DAW. In fact, a number of them have previously been requested by FL Studio users!

Firstly, FL 21 offers an improved browser with selectable tracks and sounds that you can now clone, and new integrations with Newtone, Newtime & Edison plugins offer a streamlined workflow.

On the main arrangement tab, FL 21 offers MIDI loop recording and easier automation creation whereby you can select and move multiple automation points at once, in addition to volume fade-in/out markers for audio clips!

Furthermore, now FL Studio lets you chop both Pattern and Automation Clips so you can slice an audio file into as many pieces as you like and give each unique volume motion – a great trick while resampling.

Additionally, FL Studio 21 offers a new LUFS / ISP-meter plugin designed to give honest metering of how loud your music really is. As a result, producers uploading their music to streaming platforms like Spotify, Youtube, SoundCloud, and so on can ensure their projects meet the audio guidelines of those services.

Image-Line New has implemented new customization features in addition to improved functionality. Now you can make changes to the look of the interface by changing its colors!

Finally, Image-Line has added a number of new plugins to FL Studios’ arsenal. Here are a few as listed by the developer:

  • Luxeverb (All Plugins Edition)- The most advanced reverb made exclusively for FL Studio.
  • Vintage phaser (Signature Bundle and up) – Meticulously modeled on the 80’s classic used on Oxygene by Jean-Michelle Jarre.
  • Multiband Delay (Producer Edition and up) – 16 frequency band delay with independent control. A truly unique sound design tool.
  • VFX Sequencer (All Editions) – An advanced step sequencer to transform chords into melodic phrases.
