As an artists gets more follows and listens on Spotify and Apple Music, Pandora, Deezer, SoundCloud and other streaming platforms, and the better they perform on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and across the rest of social media, the closer they get to becoming the biggest artist in the world.
Since we last checked the ranking in January earlier this year, there’s been a fair amount of movement among the top 10. Taylor Swift’s position on the top of the list has been claimed by Drake, with the release of three new albums last month. In second position in a new entry from Michael Jackson, thanks to the record-breaking success of the new biopic. Shakira is the other new entry at eighth position. These two artists pushed Ed Sheeran and Billie Eilish off the top ten.
Ariana Grande is the only other rising artist, while Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and The Weeknd have all dropped positions in the top ten.
