Spotify has announced the expansion of its Clips feature to new territories!

Since Spotify launched Clips at 2023’s Stream On event, listeners in 19 territories have had access to view Clips on Spotify clips on their mobile devices. Now, Spotify is expanding Clips into new listener territories, meaning more fans can connect with artists around the world.

Spotify launches Clips in 19 new territories

After the launch on Friday (June 2nd), listeners from a total of 74 territories have access to Clips on Spotify.

Clips are Spotify’s answer to short videos and artists can use Clips to connect with their fans in new ways directly on Spotify. The streaming service says you can “deepen your connection to fans and drive metrics that really matter to your career”, meaning they provide a means of expressing yourself and your music in new ways.

Spotify boasts that Clips give artists more longevity than typical video content. Today, artists incorporating video content into their marketing on Instagram usually receive more listens and promotions than those that don’t. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube allow you to present yourself as a human and create videos that sell you and your music to audiences anywhere.

Spotify Clips allows you to do all of that on the same platform where listeners listen to your music directly – without getting lost in the social scroll. In practice, you can use Spotify Clips to hype up a particular release to your existing fans and new audiences, promote your latest album and drive streams and saves, or tell stories about yourself and your music – a use case which I think allows artists the best opportunity to convert casual listeners into fans.

Furthermore, Clips are uploaded directly through Spotify for Artists and attached to your artist profile by default. You can also tag Clips to your singles and albums which allows listeners to access your music after watching your video.
