Spotify have teamed up with Riot Games to bring the best in gaming playlists and stories from the LoL world to listeners around the world.
Spotify have joined into a multiyear partnership with Riot Games to become the first official and exclusive audio-streaming partner for League of Legends. The huge MOBA game is the biggest esport in the world with an average 21.8 million average minute audience watching the World Championship final last year.
The official soundtrack for LoL already has over 4.8 million listeners every month. Spotify intend to grow and expand their content available for gamers with a brand new hub just for League of Legends players and fans alike.
Their new hub will feature all of the music, podcasts, and playlists which Spotify already offer and will continue to grow with new dedicated content. It will feature a bunch of playlists tailored to creating the perfect backdrop for players as they enjoy the game, including their Official LoL playlist and the Road to Worlds 2020 playlist.
Spotify’s Global Head of Consumer and Product Marketing, June Sauvaget says: “Our partnership with Riot Games will create a first-of-its-kind audio universe for the millions of Spotify and League of Legends fans across the globe. As the exclusive—and first ever—global audio service partner for League of Legends, we plan to create a world-class audio-streaming experience for our users, making discovering both music and podcasts easier than ever before.”
They will be launching an exclusive new podcast series, titled Untold Stories: Top Moments from Worlds. The 9 episode series will follow the journey to the 10th annual World Championship of the game this year. It’s set to feature interviews with top players and game related anthems.
