TIDAL has announced TIDAL Artist Home, a new feature allowing artists to see and edit their TIDAL profile.

TIDAL says that the new TIDAL Artist Home gives artists on the platform control over their artist profiles while giving them early access to new products and resources, all tailored to their needs. Furthermore, TIDAL states that their new artist services platform is launching with a “long-term vision of giving artists more control over their careers, starting with their presence on TIDAL.

Artists can edit their profiles, link to their social media pages so listeners can keep up to date with them, and request content updates for albums, EPs, and singles to TIDAL’s Content Operations through TIDAL Artist Home.

Spotify launched its artist services platform, Spotify for Artists, back in October 2017. Spotify’s service enables artists to track the release of their new music while managing their Spotify profiles’ appearance. Now, TIDAL’s Artist Home is following suit – even if it’s a little late to the party.

Tracy Chan, SoundCloud’s Senior Vice President of Creator (and former Head of Music at Twitch) led the development of both SoundCloud for Artists and Spotify for Artists. Meanwhile, Tencent launched a similar service called ‘TMEBusiness Intelligence for Artists’ which TME claims updates data 150 times a day by data mining across multiple platforms.

TIDAL promises that artists have the option to extend access to their TIDAL Artist Home account to their teams (managers, labels, marketing, and so on) as they grow in popularity.

Agustina Sacerdote, TIDAL’s Global Head of Product, said TIDAL is “building a platform to help economically empower emerging artists around the world.”

Music Week notes how this change is impacting artists. Rising artist Akinyemi says “Giving an artist like me a simple way to manage my presence on Tidal is important so I can represent myself the way I want to be seen as an artist.”

Tidal is available in free (US only), HiFi, and HiFi Plus tiers, with the HiFi Plus membership offering access to immersive audio features like Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) recordings, Dolby Atmos and Sony’s 360 Reality Audio.
