You can’t beat the Christmas classics… or can you? Find out with the best Christmas song covers to come out this year.

The time is here again, the most wonderful time that is. The decs are out, the goose should already be well fat, and we’re preparing for the hordes of family to arrive.

One of the best things about it all, is drowning out the noise with Christmas songs. Unavoidable good vibes. Each year, singers try to outdo the classics that have remained with us for years.

How did they do this year? Let’s find out.

Jingle Bell Rock – Alessia Cara

She plays the guitar so convincingly, I can almost hear it!

Let It Snow – Andrea Bocelli, Virginia Bocelli

Taken from Bocelli’s family album, the lyrics of this song shouldn’t be considered too closely for this song, clearly. I’m also not entirely convinced that Andrea’s voice hasn’t been provided by an AI, like Jon Bon Jovi’s in our list of the best original Christmas songs in 2023.

Blue Christmas – Norah Jones

Norah Jones’ iconic voice doing Elvis’ classic Christmas tune? What a combo.

Christmas Wish Medley – Gregory Porter

For a bit more of a classical vibe, you have Gregory Porter taking on classic Christmas hymn Silent Night, combined with some soulful jazzy pieces.

Winter Wonderland – Mary J Blige

Oh yeah, an R&B take on Winter Wonderland. You can’t go wrong, especially not with a coat like that, Mary!

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas – Maddie & Tae

Everyone’s favourite female duo *checks notes*… Maddie & Tae? Yeah, they’ve gone and done a version of this song that reminds us all to take a look around and take in the vibe.

What Christmas Means To Me – Joss Stone

Who could improve upon a Stevie Wonder track? I don’t know, do you?

Last Christmas (feat. HIKAKIN & SEIKIN) – Pentatonix

A fully acapella version of Wham!’s legendary Christmas record is something we didn’t realise we needed. And I’m still not sure!

What Christmas Means To Me – Cher

Uh oh! Double trouble. But now we can put them side by side to decide who did it better. It’s better than Cher’s original Christmas song, included in the top new Christmas songs 2023, I’ll say that much.

Last Christmas – Backstreet Boys

Oops I did it again! Another double whammy so that you can decide who did it better. Let us know down in the comments below and have a merry Christmas!
