Spotify’s first app for Android TV has launched so you can stream unlimited music through your TV.

The app requires Android TV 5.0 or higher but is available right now from the Play Store. From the app you can play songs, albums, and playlists all controlled via Android TV remote or by smartphones and tablets.

Unlike Smart TVs’ Spotify app you don’t need to be a Premium subscriber to use the app. As a free listener you can still stream music to your heart’s extent but with some ads in between.

Probably the best thing about streaming Spotify on TV is having the album art presented large and in HD. It’s as close as you’ll get to the visual experience of vinyls on a modern platform.
