Mexico and Brazil, where the “world’s most fervent music consumers” reside, can now see what music is featured in Instagram Reels the most.

These new Reels Charts are Spotify playlists only available in these countries, with no information on global expansion available at the time of writing.

The brand-new Reels Chart will showcase the 50 most popular songs from Instagram Reels each week. It will live as playlists on Spotify in Mexico and Brazil and feature the most popular tracks in the Instagram Reels universe.

As a result, these new Reels Carts playlists give fans an opportunity to easily discover more music featured in trends or is just popular on Instagram. Spotify promises that these playlists will be updated weekly, meaning artists have a fresh new opportunity to reach a broader fan base every week.

Ultimately, Spotify has designed this new tool in order to keep fans in the loop with the latest trends on the social app. As of today, fans in Brazil and Mexico can “[embrace] the power of Reels Charts on Spotify today”.

Furthermore, Spotify has listed how the most popular songs from Reels are determined. The streaming service says “Several variables are taken into account,” including:

  • Songs most used in Instagram Reels creations
  • Songs with the biggest growth in views in Instagram Reels
  • Levels of engagement on Instagram Reels
  • Overall consumption on Instagram Reels

Unfortunately, there is no information on whether Spotify & Instagram will make these Reels Charts available in all countries as of yet. However, these Reels Charts will open up another avenue of exposure for artists of all sizes. As long as your track is included in a high number of Reels as to make it into the top 50, Spotify users in Mexico and Brazil will be able to find your music if they haven’t already.
