Spotify’s AI DJ is now available in Spanish, expanding to Spain and all Latin American countries, including Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina.

First spotted in the code back in May, Spotify has announced AI DJ is now available in beta in Spanish to Premium subscribers. Launched last year, AI DJ is a combination of generative AI, Spotify’s famous personalization technology and their expert music editors. Spotify’s AI DJ is a personalized feed of music, featuring old favorites and new discoveries, with AI-powered commentary between tracks. Until now, AI DJ was only available in English with the AI voice model trained on Spotify’s Head of Cultural Partnerships, Xavier “X” Jernigan.

AI DJ is a great way to discover something new about your favorite artists or get introduced to your next jam. According to Spotify, users are more likely to listen to recommendations when they are accompanied by commentary. Spotify has a year of data from AI DJ to back up that those who use the DJ listen to more Spotify.

Latin music and artists are huge on Spotify. With AI DJ now available to millions of more listeners in Spanish, this popuarity will only increase. Since it’s launch in English, Spanish users have been asking for AI DJ.

Spotify AI DJ is launching a new voice for the launch. DJ Livi is based on Spotify’s Senior Music Editor, Olivia “Livi” Quiroz Roa. Spotify found the voice to resonate with testers.

This launch hasn’t only seen Spotify’s AI DJ release in Spanish. The DJ is rolling out in 18 new regions, including Spain, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. This is on top of the 51 countries AI DJ is already available in.

How to use Spotify AI DJ in Spanish

  • Open Spotify and head to the Search tab
  • Search “DJ”
  • Press play

To switch languages, tap the three-dot menu within the DJ card. Hit the DJ button at the bottom of your screen to change up the vibe.
