Instagram are giving creators new ways to recognise and share their successes with two new features rolling out to leverage creator insights.

It’s a good feeling when we recognise our successes. Instagram are giving creators an encouraging hand with two new features that recognise the growth and milestones of creators, with shareability.

First up are Recaps, a regular digest that sums up the biggest stats on your Instagram Page. Instagram say that Recaps will present “top insights, education, and inspiration based on your activity on Instagram”. Stats include growth percentages in Reels and posts, views from users who don’t follow you, and growth from followers.

Recaps are not only meant to provide a cohesive, regular look back at your growth and performance. Instagram say that they will also offer feedback on areas in which creators could improve their growth on Instagram, based on their insights.

Recaps are rolling out over the coming weeks, but “aren’t available to all creators yet”. Creators who have gained access to their recap can find it in their “Professional Dashboard” or from their notifications.

Also new to Instagram for creators are Celebrations. These cards will show up when creators’ hit special milestones “such as when your reel takes off or you cross a certain follower count”. For example, reaching 10,000 followers on your Instagram page will warrant a celebration page.

Instagram say: “Celebrations recognise your everyday progress so when you see a celebration in your notifications, take the time to reflect on what you’ve accomplished, enjoy the moment, and share the win with your community.”

Instagram have been busy expanding the potential for creators lately. Last month, they introduced a new aspect ratio for photos that sees them move towards a more natural fit for smartphone screens. Instagram now allows uploads of 3:4 aspect ratio photos, providing more vertical options for creators and allowing the default ratio of many smartphone photos.
