Spotify and SXSW team up offering new music discovery, playlists and “Special Experiences”
Spotify have joined up with the SXSW music festival to offer a bunch of curated and enhanced music opportunities as well as some special opportunities with SXSW artists.
The South-by-Southwest Music Festival are introducing their own hub into Spotify for everything music related to the festival. From today Spotify users will be able to listen to genre-specific curated playlists for one of the world’s biggest festivals from Spotify and the SXSW GO app.
Spotify has integrated with the SXSW GO App to help users discover and explore over 2,200 artists performing at the 2017 SXSW Music Festival. Accessible through “Discover” in the SXSW GO app, the integration will include Spotify genre-specific curated playlists as well as curated recommendations for each day of the festival. Premium and Free Spotify users can also use the SXSW GO App to generate a custom playlist of artists playing at the festival.
Spotify’s VP Content and Global Head of Shows and Editorial, Nick Holmstén said: “The SXSW Music Festival is at the forefront of music discovery where thousands of artists from around the world, from different genres and countries are met by music fans looking to experience and connect with these performers. As a platform for music discovery, Spotify is in a unique position to help open up this unmatched experience to music fans around the globe.
“We’re taking a new approach this year by curating content that is unique to SXSW and allowing Spotify fans everywhere to explore the music coming out of the festival.
