Pandora AMP is making it easier for artists to decide what to promote, with new Campaign Recommendations based on their artist profile and audience activity.

Pandora AMP has introduced Campaign Recommendations, a new feature designed to help artists find promotional opportunities based on how their music is performing on the platform.

The update follows Pandora’s launch of Fan Campaigns earlier this year, which brought several of AMP’s existing promotional tools together into a simpler campaign-building experience. Now, Pandora is adding another layer of guidance, using artist and audience data to suggest where promotional efforts could be focused.

Rather than having to work out which of its campaign tools might be useful for a particular song or moment, an artist will now see personalised recommendations within AMP.

Pandora says Campaign Recommendations can highlight opportunities around:

  • Tracks that are gaining traction and driving listener engagement
  • Upcoming tour dates and shows
  • Artist programmes and other promotional opportunities
  • Catalogue tracks that could be suitable for a campaign

These recommendations appear in a scrollable carousel, giving artists a quick way to browse the different strategies suggested for their profile.

Pandora AMP will highlight tracks to promote

The recommendations also appear directly in the “Catalog” section of Pandora AMP.

If Pandora identifies a track as a good candidate for promotion, it will display a “Promote” badge alongside the track. Artists can also use a new “Recommend for Promotion” filter to find the tracks that have received recommendations.

This could make it easier to spot opportunities that might otherwise be overlooked. A track doesn’t necessarily have to be the newest release in an artist’s catalogue to be worth promoting, particularly if it is showing signs of renewed listener interest.

That fits with another change Pandora made as part of its Fan Campaigns update. Earlier this year, the platform removed the previous 365-day eligibility restriction for Featured Tracks, allowing artists to feature older catalogue tracks as long as they meet the relevant requirements. Artists can feature up to six tracks per year.

Taken together, the changes give artists more reason to look beyond their latest release when planning their promotion. A song that has been in your catalogue for a while could still become a useful focus for a campaign if listeners are engaging with it.

Pandora is continuing to develop AMP

Campaign Recommendations are the latest addition to a series of updates aimed at making Pandora AMP’s promotional tools more accessible to artists.

Fan Campaigns brought together Artist Audio Messages, Featured Tracks, Promote Single and Promote Show, alongside improved campaign performance pages, sorting tools and downloadable CSV data.

The new recommendations build on that foundation by helping artists decide where those tools could be useful.

There are also new Milestones badges within the catalogue. When a track reaches a milestone such as Pandora’s Millions Streams Club, artists can click the badge to access three custom downloadable assets in different formats, which can then be shared with fans.

The new Campaign Recommendations are now available in Pandora AMP, giving artists another way to discover the promotional tools available to them and identify tracks or other activity that could be worth putting behind a campaign.
