The launch of SoundCloud’s new store offers artists a unique new way to connect with their fans whilst introducing new revenue streams. The SoundCloud store features exclusive artist merch as well as a “SoundCloud essentials collection”.
Next Pro artists can design and sell their merch within the SoundCloud Store, keeping 100% of their merch rights. There are no upfront costs to Next Pro artists coming to the store.
SoundCloud promise “more exclusive merch from your favourite artists is dropping soon!”
Customise your SoundCloud experience
All SoundCloud users with app can now change the logo that appears on their smartphone. Everyone can pick between the original orange design and a black one.
Meanwhile, subscribers will have extra icon designs to pick from to make their home-screen truly unique and represent their connection to SoundCloud.
Displaying artists on tracks
SoundCloud has changed the way that artists are displayed on tracks to make them more significant. They have changed the mobile display so that tracks will display artist names rather than user profile names beneath the track when listening.
SoundCloud say: “By updating how metadata is displayed on the platform, we’re improving possibilities for fans to find their (future) faves and for artists to get paid!”
SoundCloud’s new iOS homepage
A brand new look makes it easier than ever to dive inside the music you love and explore new artists. The homepage features your most-played tracks, new releases from artists you like, and personalised playlists.
The new iOS homepage has been made available to all users in the United States and is rolling out to the rest of the world soon.
