Why settle for less when you could be watching as many as four channels at the same time with YouTube’s expanding multiview feature.

YouTube‘s multiview is a feature for YouTube TV that lets you watch up to four channels at the same time. By splitting your screen into multiple smaller screens you can watch multiple channels simultaneously. Now, that feature is coming to more Android devices.

“Why would you want to watch four channels at the same time?”, is the reasonable question you might be asking. Well, sports fans have the best (and possibly only) answer, with the multiview expanding your viewing of a sports game to four different views at once. Or, perhaps you want to watch two different games at once. Or, even enjoy watching the results happen whilst engaging in some other entertainment.

The feature launched on smart TVs last year and was released for iOS devices last month. The feature has begun rolling out to Android devices this week and Google spokesperson Allison Toh confirmed that the feature will be rolling out to all Android phones and tablets in the coming weeks.

YouTube TV celebrated a milestone of 8 million subscribers earlier this year. The service offers a number of cable TV channels available to stream through the internet to YouTube’s TV app. Late last year, they began experimenting with adverts to make YouTube TV a little more like television with longer ad breaks, but with less frequency.
