Miniot has announced Wheel 3, a vertical turntable that offers premium sound and flexible playback.

The Dutch brand Miniot has returned with a fresh and sleeker version of its eye-catching vertical turntable. Say hello to the Wheel 3 – a unique, wall-mountable or table-friendly record player that blends modern design with premium sound quality.

Musicians, audiophiles and design lovers may already be familiar with Miniot’s journey. The first Wheel had promise but didn’t quite hit the mark. Then came the Wheel 2, which fixed many of the early issues and found a fan base – you can check out a review of this iteration from The Verge. Now, the team is back with the Wheel 3, and it might just be their best work yet.

Handmade with care, the Wheel 3 is designed to play your vinyl records in three different ways: standing upright on its base, lying flat on a table, or even hanging stylishly on a wall. This flexibility makes it ideal for music lovers who care about both sound and aesthetics.

Inside, the Wheel 3 is packed with new hardware. One of the standout features is its optical stylus, which measures position rather than acceleration (like a magnetic stylus does). This means, as Miniot put it, the stylus can “‘see’ sound all the way down to 0 Hz.” This offers a major upgrade, and apparently “blows away anything you’ve heard before!”

The device also includes a new “bespoke, high-end” amplifier for improved sound quality. It comes with a redesigned linear tonearm that moves vertically up and down the record, unlike the side-to-side tonearm on the previous model.

Controlling your music is still sleek and simple. A volume and playback slider is built into the rim of the turntable, located near the small digital display, which you can dim to match your vibe. This gives users precise digital control without taking away from the analogue charm of vinyl.

The Wheel 3’s design is even more refined than before. It now features a two-part build — a solid composite back paired with a polished aluminium front. The result is a cleaner and more modern look. For those who prefer a natural feel, the Wheel 3 Special Edition comes with a wooden back, a nice nod to Miniot’s original style.

Interested buyers can preorder the Wheel 3 now for $3,350 or €2,900. Deliveries are to begin at the end of June 2025.
