SSL Transformer emulates the 600-ohm, 1:1-wound under-damped transformer found in the SSL Fusion hardware. The transformer adds analog flavor to your music by adding harmonics and warmth to your audio.
Rekkerd reports that the SSL Transformer plugin will thicken your bass and other low-end instruments, and it’ll add some “high-end sheen” to your sounds too. Furthermore, the audible effect can vary depending on what channel you insert it on.
In practice, it can range from a subtle presence and body on vocal tracks, string instruments, brass, and more. But it can also tighten lows and add sizzle to the highs in your mix too!
