Sony’s Playstation 5 has added spatial audio support in the latest system update and released a midnight black version of its Pulse 3D audio headset.

The Playstation 5 console has just received a major system update, which features a variety of upgrades and improvements – including 3D audio support for built-in TV Speakers.

Once the Playstation 5 has updated you can head to the system menu to enable the feature and allow the PS5 to measure your room’s acoustics via the microphone in the DualSense Controller. The PS5 will then transform the standard two-channel TV speaker audio into three-dimensional sound for a more immersive media experience.

This new feature can also be enjoyed on 3D audio-supported headsets and compatible headsets. To coincide with this update, Sony will also be releasing a midnight black version of their popular Sony Pulse 3D audio headset.

Owners of the Pulse 3D headset will also be able to customize their preferred sound in the new equalizer settings in the sound menu.
