Cornish hard rock outfit O’Deus return with ‘Sirens’, an ambitious new single that sees the band venture into more atmospheric and emotionally driven territory while retaining the powerful riffs and soaring vocals that have become their trademark.

Released on 31 July 2026, Sirens marks a new chapter for the four-piece, trading relentless energy for a slower-burning, cinematic sound that explores themes of mental health, inner conflict and resilience through the lens of ancient mythology.

Drawing inspiration from Cornwall’s dramatic coastline, the band uses the legend of the mythical Sirens as a metaphor for the struggles many people face with their mental wellbeing. The result is a song that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable, combining emotional storytelling with expansive rock production.

Fronted by the soulful vocals of Jazz Urell, Sirens places greater emphasis on atmosphere than any previous O’Deus release. Her performance is complemented by rich guitar work from Richard Searby-Bates, powerful rhythms from drummer Chris Tofts, and the driving basslines of Christer Henning “Yeti” Danielsson, creating a sound that is as immersive as it is impactful.

While O’Deus have built their reputation on hard-hitting rock influenced by the likes of Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Royal Blood, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, Sirens also embraces the darker, more melodic side of bands such as Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. The result is an epic, emotionally charged track that showcases the band’s versatility while remaining rooted in their signature style.

Emerging from Cornwall’s thriving music scene, O’Deus have become known for their energetic live performances, appearing at festivals including Download Festival, Boardmasters, Leopallooza, Little Orchard and The Hook Up Chopper Festival. Alongside continued support from BBC Introducing, the band has steadily built a growing following across the UK.

That momentum has been further fuelled by the success of previous single ‘Southern Cross’, whose cinematic horror-inspired music video, directed by Ryan Mackfall, has amassed more than 750,000 views across YouTube and Instagram, introducing O’Deus to an even wider audience.

The band’s visual storytelling continues with Sirens, which will be accompanied by a full production music video premiering on 2 August 2026. Expanding on the song’s themes of mysticism and emotional depth, the video promises to bring the track’s haunting narrative to life.
