Top 10 most-streamed songs on Spotify – the all-time most popular tracks 2025
As of January 2025, The Weeknd stays strong as the most-streamed song of all-time on Spotify, with over 4 billion streams!
Recently we’ve been looking at Spotify’s most followed artists and those with the most monthly listeners. Spotify keep this streaming data public and you can find a breakdown of the top 100 most-streamed songs, as well as other listening data on Wikipedia here.
Since 31 December 2022, The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights holds the number 1 rank as the most-streamed song of all time on Spotify. The synth-pop track was released almost five years ago and has since pulled in over 4.66 billion plays, above Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You, with 4.18 billion streams, which previously held the position for a record 1,928 days (over five years!).
Today, there are over 17 tracks with over 3 billion streams, up from just nine last time we updated this list in May 2024! Other changes to the top ten in the last eight months include Ed Sheeran joining The Weeknd in the +4 billion streams club. Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood entering the list at number seven. This track also holds the record for the most streams of all-time by a band. Dance Monkey by Tones and I drops out of the list. Harry Styles with As It Was climbs two places, trading with Sunflower by Post Malone & Swae Lee, and is still the newest track on the top ten, releasing in April 2022. One Dance by Drake, WizKid & Kyla falls by one place, from seventh to eighth.
