With its synthy feel, this easy-to-use, new VST plugin from Audiolatry really shines in funky electronic music.

Create simple, powerful bass lines in seconds with Audiolatry’s FunkBass. The free instrument plugin is fast and light, loaded with eight presets to get you started in no time: finger, slap, pick, chorus, fretless, fuzz, low and sub.

The interface gives you seven dials to customize the sound to fit your own style. Filter controlling the high/low cut, gain and pan, attack and release envelope, and LFO modulation selection with speed and depth. You can also control the LFO wave type, source and destination. Wave type includes five wave types: none, mod wheel, aftertouch and velocity. Source includes four input source types: none, pitch, expression and pan. Destination includes four LFO destinations: none, pitch, expression and pan.

“If you are looking for a virtual bass with tons of techniques, articulations, nuances, and effects, FunkBass is not for you – there are already dozens of such commercial plugins on the market.” Audiolatry knows that a virtual instrument can never replace the real thing, but hopes FunkBass’ simplified approach provides the closest thing.

FunkBass supports DAWs and other plugin host software on 64-bit Windows 8.1/10 as a VST/VST3 plugin, or macOS El Capitan to Mojave (not compatible with Catalina and up) as a VST/VST3/AU plugin.
