Being one of the world’s largest guitar brands, you’d think Fender would be competing with the likes of Line 6’s Helix already.

Well, the brand has answered the call with the latest addition to its Tone Master range with a compact Pro model: a multi-effect floor modeller packed with 8 cores and 100 guitar amps!

Tone Master Pro: the new favourite guitar and bass tone modeller?

The Tone Master Pro is the latest addition to the Tone Master series, a range combining classic Fender amps and pedal tones with digital technology. Unlike its predecessors, the Tone Master Pro is a compact floor unit boasting an extensive collection of over 100 amp and effects models.

Designed for both stage and studio use, the Tone Master Pro offers iconic Fender favourites and classics, including the first officially licensed EVH 5150 amp! Thanks to Fender’s modelling technology, models are meticulously created to ensure they capture the essence of the originals.

Powering all of this weight is an impressive 8-core processor, allowing for complex signal chains, making extensive use of effects like delay and reverb, and harnessing a vast tonal palette. Navigating the Tone Master Pro is designed to be a breeze thanks to its 7-inch full-colour touchscreen, which displays vibrant graphics and an easy UI for accessing models, effects, and presets.

On the surface, ten footswitch encoders are all equipped with LCD “scribble strips” for easy identification, so you can customise your workflow how you like and make the most of the making hands-on controls. Then, whether for live performance or saving ideas, the 60-second stereo looper adds levels of versatility to the Tone Master Pro. Utilize the four effect loop channels and connect your favourite pedals and speakers before jamming through your entire rig!

Speaking of connectivity, the Tone Master Pro offers USB, MIDI, and Bluetooth options, and while Tone Master Pro Control app (Mac and PC) allows for in-depth editing, preset management, and sharing! The unit also functions as a 4×4 USB audio interface for direct recording into a DAW.

So, how much is it?

Priced at $1,699, the Tone Master Pro is set to become a flagship product for Fender. The manufacturer’s entry into this arena says it can keep up with the competition and preserve its rich legacy. The competition, established brands like Line 6 and Neural DSP, enjoy a loyal following, so Fender would need to make a statement.

Though late to the pedal party, Fender’s Tone Master Pro’s combination of processing power, user-friendly interface, extensive model library, and renowned Fender sound will certainly say something.
