How to edit videos for TikTok outside the TikTok app
Make short videos for TikTok in browser, desktop and mobile apps.
TikTok is one of the world’s most popular apps partly because it is so simple to create, edit, and upload videos. However, for many reasons, you may not want to create your videos within the TikTok app.
Thankfully, there’s a solution!
TikTok have released an external app purely for creating videos on with numerous tools to cut, splice, change the speed, add effects, record voiceovers and much more.
CapCut offers you all the tools you need to make engaging and exciting videos with a wealth of video editing potential. It also features TikTok staples such as their music catalogue so that you can add soundtracks and export it ready to upload straight to TikTok or other video platforms.
CapCut is available on web browsers, Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
YouTube Shorts is YouTube’s short video platform built into their overall video app and website. They’re a direct competitor to TikTok and have recently announced the development of their own video editing app.
YouTube Create is set to offer a complete set of tools for editing both short videos and longer, regular landscape videos. Presumably the focus will be on short form videos which are easier to edit simply within an app.
It remains to be seen if YouTube can compete with the impressive feature set of CapCut.
