Drake’s latest album ‘Certified Lover Boy’ is showing no signs of slowing down as it continues to smash records.

In the run-up to the release, Kanye and Drake were battling it out for attention, but even though Drake had less theatrics he’s smashing Kanye’s record sales. It’s safe to say ‘Certified Lover Boy’ is an extremely successful album release.

Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ launched with 313,000 album-equivalent units and Drake came through with almost double that number, with more than 595,000 album-equivalent units. The bulk of Drake’s first-week total came from streaming services, which amassed 680 million plays. The album also saw 43,000 album downloads and roughly the same number of individual song downloads.

The album remains the biggest album debut of 2021 on the Rolling Stone Top 200 Albums chart, surpassing artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, and many more.
