Artists can share concerts on TikTok in 20 new countries
TikTok users in the UK, Canada, and 18 more countries can now buy concert tickets from their favourite artists through the app.
Music lovers on TikTok can now connect to their favourite artists’ upcoming concerts. TikTok and Ticketmaster have expanded their partnership to 20 new countries this week.
First launched in the US last year, TikTok provided concerts on artists pages for fans to explore. With just a few clicks from the app they could secure their place at upcoming concerts with a simple ticket purchase.
Concert tickets on TikTok are now available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden.
Artists can add event links to their TikTok before publishing them to their profile. TikTok said that there have been 2.5 billion views of videos using the feature since it launched in the US in 2022.
TikTok’s Global Music Partnership Development Lead, Michael Kümmerle said: “This is an exciting moment for the millions of passionate music fans in the TikTok community. By enabling fans to buy tickets directly through TikTok, we’re giving artists the opportunity to reach ticket buyers in a whole new way and change the game for live events around the world.
“As we bring fans closer to the artists and events they love, we hope to deliver further value to all artists throughout all stages of their careers and provide more opportunities for a growing fanbase. We are very excited to see how our partnership with Ticketmaster will develop over time.”
Ticketmaster’s Vice President of Global Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, Michael Chua said: “Today’s music lives on a global stage and the demand for ‘live’ has never been greater.
“Through our partnership, TikTok and Ticketmaster are empowering artists to easily connect their content to event discovery and ticket purchase in-app making it easier than ever for fans around the world to experience their favorite artists live.”
The feature is available to over 75,000 artists. Last week TikTok launched Artist Accounts, providing a deeper connection with fans for artists on the platform. Features include an Artist tag, a Music tab on their profile, and pinned songs and videos.
