VoxSyn is a vocoder that manipulates your voice into everything from a flute, to a robot, to a seemingly endless amount of craziness.
VoxSyn is the incredibly flexible vocoder app from mobile app devs VirSyn. If you don’t know a vocoder is like a real-time, flexible, auto-tune that you can use to create bizarre sound effects and manipulate your voice in various different ways.
VirSyn says that VoxSyn is “the most flexible vocal sound generator ever”. I can’t tell you whether that’s true but I can tell you it has an incredible range of available modulations, spectral variations, and more to take your voice beyond any recognisable limits.
By talking or singing into your device’s microphone the app will trigger various synthesiser sounds that follow either the pitch of your voice of the musical notes you press on the app’s hexagonal collage of notes.
The basic sounds used are taken from VirSyn’s popular TERA synthesis engine and can be expanded by VoxSyn’s random sound generator. The app features hundreds of presets, all of which you can edit in depth with pitch, tuning and level settings as well as various effects like Drive, Phaser, Delay, and more, each with editable parameters.
Here’s a full list of features in the expansive VoxSyn vocoder app:
