We’re always talking about how Spotify are doing more to serve artists, here’s some of the features they’ve dropped for the fans to bring them closer to the artists they love.

It feels like Spotify have something new to give both artists and listeners every other week. It’s easy, then, to keep up with everything you can do on the world’s favourite music streaming platform. So, to help fans make the most of their connection with the music they care about Spotify are reminding us what they offer.

We constantly cover all of the ways in which artists can maximise their presence on Spotify. This time, we’re looking at the listeners and the features available to them.

Listening parties

What could be more special than an intimate hangout with your favourite artists. Listening Parties allow fans to join artists as they celebrate their new music releases. Listening Parties are a chance for fans to hear artists’ behind-the-scenes stories, chat with them in real-time, and listen to an artist’s selection of their music.

Listening Parties are currently a limited feature, available in the U.S., Indonesia, Mexico, and Canada. This year, Spotify has hosted listening parties with artists such as Peso Pluma, Bleachers, Gracie Abrams, and SEVENTEEN.

Countdown Pages

These exciting new pages are the place to find the hype for your favourite artists’ upcoming releases. These pages count down the seconds until release day, letting you get involved in advance by presaving the music, previewing the tracklist, watching clips, and nabbing exclusive merch.

When you presave an album, you’ll receive a push notification when release day finally comes taking you there. The release will also be automatically added to Your Library. The great news is that Countdown Pages are available to Free and Premium subscribers across all markets.

Live Events feed

Discovered an artist that you love on Spotify? The next step is seeing them live. Thankfully, with Spotify the experience is seamless as Spotify features the upcoming events for artists on their artist pages.

Now, with a new Live Events feed listeners can discover upcoming gigs based on their location and top artists, recommended just for them. Browse concerts based on your taste and search other cities and countries to find where your favourites are going next to plan a trip.

The Live Events feed is also available to all users across every market.

Clips from artists

Spotify added Clips as a new way for artists to reach their fans on Spotify. These short videos allow artists to offer extra detail into their music, reveal exciting new announcements, and talk to their fans on a more personal level.

Clips are tagged to tracks, so listeners can easily find, save, and listen to music from the videos. Clips appear on the Home page, the Now Playing view, Countdown Pages, release pages, and beyond. They’re available to both Free and Premium users across 78 markets.
