2024 Spotify Wrapped for Artists – new data stories and personalised sharing
This year’s Wrapped for Artists promises bigger impact and a host of exciting new data points for you to share with your fans.
Isn’t this just the perfect time of year for reflection, nostalgia, and appreciation. As another year draws to a close, we can look back at how the year has developed, remember some key highlights, and consider how we will play things going into the new year. For music lovers, a fun way to do this is always with Spotify Wrapped, which is here again for 2024, sharing new AI-powered experiences and all the usual top lists suspects. And for musicians, Spotify is once again inviting you to tie a bow on the year with 2024 Wrapped for Artists.
Each year, artists have the opportunity to look back on their year with Spotify, reviewing their listening stats and sharing stories with their biggest fans. 2024 is no different, except there are some exciting new insights and data stories added to the lineup. Expect engaging statistics, interesting overviews, and eye-catching visuals. This shareable music streaming experience is a perfect way to see how far you’ve come as an artist over the last 12 months, as well as promote further growth for your music career.
All eligible artists will have access to a microsite that demonstrates how fans listened to them this year. Share cards are, of course, available for artists to show off their Spotify for Artists data stories with fans on social media.
Highlights of 2024 Wrapped for Artists
With plenty of returning features, and some new additions, what are the biggest highlights of 2024 Wrapped for Artists that you need to know about?
Crowd-pleasing share cards
You get to choose which data stories you share with your fans. Top data points like total listeners, top fans, and top tracks will be available, but Spotify is also offering share cards for every single data story available from Spotify for Artists. Each share card will be available in 37 different languages, enabling you to share how your year’s been with fans all around the globe.
New data stories
Thanks to some new and new-ish Spotify for Artists features, there are new data stories available for you to share with your most dedicated listeners this year. These include:
- Top three best performing Clips – pretty self explanatory, find out which three clips your fans enjoyed the most.
- “New release” story – highlights your biggest release week based on week one streams.
Countdown pages
Artists with a “new release” data story can relive their biggest first week of a release this year. Artists who had a Countdown Page for the release can see how many pre-saves they received. In probably un-shocking news, Taylor Swift’s 2024 album, Tortured Poets Department became the most pre-saved Countdown Page in the history of Spotify.
Get personal with Clips
Short-form video is king at the moment, and Spotify is letting artists take advantage of that with Clips. “Clips are under-30 second vertical videos that let you express your creativity and bring your fans closer, all while keeping your music front-and-center.” They boost discoverability, drive deeper connections, and aid promotion. Making the most of Clips was something Spotify heavily recommended as part of getting ready for wrapped this year.
Spotify provided three prompts this year to help inform artists’ messages to fans. These were:
- Reveal which song you’ve loved performing this year
- Drop the real meaning behind one of your new songs
- Tell a story about writing a track
The deadline for pre-scheduling Clips to be included in your 2024 Wrapped experience was November 20th. Don’t panic, though. After Wrapped, uploaded Clips will be featured across Spotify, including on your artist profile, the Now Playing view, Release Pages, and Home.
Currently in beta for tens of thousands of artists worldwide, Clips will include artists like Peso Pluma, ROSÉ, Billie Eilish, USHER, Sabrina Carpenter, KAROL G, and many, many more.
Wrapped for Songwriters
Alongside 2024 Wrapped for Artists, songwriters on Spotify will also get access to their Wrapped for Songwriters. If you have a Songwriter Page on Spotify, you will be able to wrap 2024 with an interactive microsite, wonderfully visual share cards, and a dedicated social campaign.
