Spotify’s Baila Reggaeton playlist reaches 10 million followers

Seven years since it’s launch, Spotify’s playlist Baila Reggaeton hits 10 million followers.

Reggaeton’s roots date back to the 1970s in Panama, then quickly spread to Colombia, Puerto Rico and the US. Reggae-dancehall fusion lead to the creation of Spotify’s playlist Baila Reggaeton in 2013. Seven years later and the fourth most followed playlist on Spotify has passed a massive milestone.

With massive hits such as Daddy Yankee – Gasolina and more recently J Balvin – Mi Gente, the playlist has helped songs gain huge audiences and kickstarted smaller artists in to the mainstream.
