Starting this week, Google are rolling out YouTube Music support for select smartwatches running Wear OS 2.

At Google I/O in May earlier this year, Google and Samsung announced they were merging Wear OS and Tizen smartwatch operating systems with the launch of Wear OS 3. With this, they announced the YouTube Music would finally be coming to watches after killing off Google Play Music last year. Last month saw Samsung’s launch of their new Galaxy Watch4s, along with support for Wear OS 3 and YouTube Music. Initial reports suggested Google would not be launching YouTube Music on older watches running Wear OS 2. This week however, Google announced support for YouTube Music would be coming to a broader selection of devices running Wear OS 2.

As on Wear OS 3, YouTube Music Premium users on supported Wear OS 2 smartwatches will be able to stream 80 million songs ad-free, thousands of playlists and tailored playlists to soundtrack your activity. With offline support, you can even download songs to your smartwatch and stream music without a data connection or tethered phone. YouTube’s Smart Downloads feature automatically refreshes songs downloaded to the watch when connected to WiFi.

Starting this week, the app is coming to Fossil Gen 6, Michael Kors, and Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro 3, and TicWatch E3 smartwatches running the latest version of Wear OS 2. You’ll find the YouTube Music app on the Google Play Store. Find more on how to download the app and music here.
