TikTok are taking their creation tools to a brand new Studio, potentially with a dedicated app for recording and editing videos.

TikTok have announced their brand new platform: TikTok Studio. The app offers all the tools for TikTok creators to create, edit, upload, manage, and analyse their TikTok content.

The new platform has been designed as the one-stop shop for creators. As such, TikTok are planning on removing the Creator tools from within the TikTok app as well as the Creator Center webapp.

TikTok state: “Whether you’re a seasoned creator, a newbie debuting your first video, or a small business balancing content creation while managing a business, TikTok Studio provides free, easy-to-use creation tools and centralized operational capabilities designed to efficiently streamline content workflow.”

TikTok Studio will only be available to creators who are over the age of 18. Presumably, part of the decision to take creation into a new section is to protect those under the age of 18 on TikTok. By making it more difficult to create and edit content on the app it may restrict underage users from uploading content.

TikTok Studio offers creators not just the tools to make their videos but reporting and analytics to keep them up to date with their performance. The platform will also provide insights into their audience behaviour and monetisation.

TikTok Studio is being launched within the mobile app, with a standalone app available in beta for Android devices on Google Play Store in select regions. They plan to bring the app to more users and the Apple App Store in the coming weeks.
