The top 20 most-streamed albums of 2023
The IFPI have revealed the albums that were streamed the most across all music streaming services in 2023.
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), the organization representing the global recorded music industry, have collected the most streamed albums of last year. More people are streaming music than ever and music streaming services are growing around the world.
Music streaming now drives the majority of the global recorded revenues for the music industry. Music streaming has such a huge influence, that the most streamed albums are a clear indicator of the artists who have the most influence in the world right now.
As with many of the other charts, Taylor Swift has a dominating presence with 5 records in the top 20. However, unlike the global vinyl sales for 2023 of which Swift took the top 3 to herself, Swift’s top spot is at number 3 for the global streaming chart. Morgan Wallen takes the top spot with ‘One Thing At A Time’ followed by SZA in second place with ‘SOS’.
Morgan Wallen sees further success with his album ‘Dangerous: The Double Album’ at number 9. The Weeknd and Drake also made the list with more than one album, both with 2 albums featured in the top 20.
Interestingly, Olivia Rodrigo makes it in at number 20 with SOUR but her huge album GUTS is absent from the list. Taylor Swift also make’s it into the list with the original version of her record 1989, whilst her re-recorded ‘Taylor’s Version’ topped the global vinyl sales for 2023.
