Dolby’s technology that upgrades home audio setups whatever the speakers are coming to TCL devices for a superior, budget home theater.
It has become a lot easier to create your own home theater setup with affordable high quality TVs and constantly evolving speaker setups. TCL TVs are about to help more viewers upgrade their home viewing experience with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect.
FlexConnect is Dolby’s technology that connects compatible wireless speakers to TVs, creating a spatial audio experience with Atmos. One of the exciting benefits of FlexConnect is that it doesn’t require perfectly placed speakers to produce a spatial effect.
This flexibility opens up spatial audio to many more homes who both don’t have a full surround sound setup and might not have the right space for a traditional, symmetrical setup. TCL are adding support for FlexConnect to their QD-Mini LED TVs in their 2025 Precise Dimming Series.
TCL are also launching their new Z100 smart speaker with FlexConnect functionality. This means that the Z100 can be connected up to TCL’s compatible TVs as part of a spatial audio setup with other wireless speakers. Up to four Z100 speakers can be used in a FlexConnect audio setup.
These TCL devices are reportedly the first devices to support FlexConnect to launch in the U.S.. So, for the timebeing U.S. customers will need to use TCL’s new TVs and speakers to make use of FlexConnect for a home spatial audio setup.
TCl say that the as-yet unreleased devices will be coming the U.S. “starting this summer”. Based on the prices in China where the Z100 has already launched the speaker will cost around $208.
So, four Z100 purchases would be slightly smaller than some of the affordable home theater setups but with smart functionality, wireless connections, and potentially superior quality it may be an attractive solution to consumers looking to upgrade their home theater.
